Team XDP Meets Special Giveaway Winner

xdp-33.jpg

Every year the crew behind the scenes at XDP works to bring exclusive giveaways to our fans. These prizes range from free truck parts, to free gear and swag giveaways, and even gift cards. However, our latest giveaway was a bit more special for us, this one was for the kids!

We decided to take a KidTrax Dodge 3500 Dually (with a Cummins of course), have it custom wrapped to match our Team XDP Racing trucks and give it away to one lucky child on social media. All their parents had to do was enter. With a ton of entries, we noticed one submission posted by Jay that really stuck out to us. Shortly after his post telling his son’s story, other fans started to rally behind Jay and his son Jackson.

Here’s Jay’s original entry:

“My 2 year old son Jackson loves trucks so much that even after his recent second open heart surgery he couldn’t wait to sit up and play with his trucks. Now while he is still currently in the hospital, every morning as soon as he wakes up he wants me to take him out and push him around the halls all day in the truck the hospital has! He would be ecstatic over that truck!”

The winner was obvious, Jay and his son Jackson were chosen. In most cases, we simply collect the winner’s information, and send the prize on it’s way. However, after hearing Jackson’s story, we wanted to do something extra special for him.

After some brainstorming with XDP’s Dave Radzierez (Monster Truck Driver) and Michelle Simpson (Crew Chief), we came up with a plan to have Jackson and his entire family come up for lunch. They could get an up close look at the Monster Truck, the shop, and most importantly Jackson would be getting a truck of his own, the XDP wrapped KidTrax Ram 3500 Dually.

About a week later, Jackson and the whole family came out for a special day that only a few have ever experienced. Greeted by Dave and Michelle, Jackson got a chance to sit in the drivers seat of XDP’s “Xtreme Diesel”  Monster Truck, enjoyed a ride around the property in the UTV, and of course, Jackson got to go home with his XDP wrapped KidTrax. All in all, it was a great time, and we are so glad to have met an incredibly brave young man, and his wonderful family.

2017 Rudy’s Diesel Season Opener

THE RACING SEASON HAS FINALLY BEGAN! After what seemed to be forever since the last race season, we at XDP are back out on the road and to kick off the 2017 racing season we headed to the first event of the year, the 2017 Rudy’s Diesel Season Opener.

The 2017 Rudy’s Diesel Season Opener is the first event to kick off the Outlaw Diesel Super Series (ODSS) in which high horsepower trucks put it all on the line and battle it out for the win. Every year this event continues to get better and this year was no exception. The event was located in Julian, NC at the Piedmont dragway, in the heart of North Carolina.

The two action-packed days were filled with drag racing, sled pulling, dyno competition, truck show-n-shine, and multiple vendors showing off the hottest new products available. Both days provided excellent weather for the racers and the crowds packed into the stands to cheer them on.

The event kicked off on Friday morning with drag racing test-n-tune and host of venders set up to showcase the latest and greatest parts in the high-performance diesel industry. As Friday wound down, the sled pulling track was groomed and ready to be torn up by high horsepower trucks looking for that full pull!

Drag racing began on Saturday around 10:00 AM and included the following classes: E.T., 7.70, 6.70, Pro Street, Pro Mod and Pro Dragster. As the racing was wrapping up around 5:00 PM, everyone traveled back over to the sled pulling track for another action-packed night of pulling. The grandstands were packed elbow to elbow all night with eager and excited fans. The sled pulling classes included: 2.6, 3.0 and Superstock Diesel.

Overall, we at XDP had a great time at the event and look forward to returning at the end of the year for the season closer and show our support. We would like to thank everyone over at Rudy’s Diesel for hosting such a great event, we had a blast!

XDP’s “Xtreme Diesel” Gets Wild In Tampa!

Team XDP Racing is back on the road again after a great weekend in Tampa, Florida. Our largest event to date, this Monster Jam show pulled in a massive crowd that quickly filled Raymond James Stadium, (home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers).

Pulling out of Detroit last week, the Crew ran into a few problems with the trailer, leaving them on the side of the road. In other words, it was a mess! A failed brake component 16426097_1561473333880007_2006271255225239683_ncaused the brakes to overheat, melting the oil seal out of the hub, which caused a leak and the wheel bearing to seize, ultimately ENDING IN  A FIRE!

After the fire department came and put out the fire, the crew knew they only had one option, fix it and keep on truckin’! The crew got the trailer road-worthy again, and headed to Tampa for what ended up being the biggest show of the season so far.

Fast forward to Friday during the qualifying rounds and practice, XDP’s Dave Radzierez put down a 21.346 second qualifying run, earning us a spot in the racing portion of the main event on Saturday night. Twenty-one seconds to get those enormous tires and truck around that entire stadium race course!? That’s fast!

“The truck sounds great, runs great and everything is working well. I’m really enjoying my seat time in this new truck on the Monster Jam Tour.” – Dave Radzierez

That Saturday afternoon the Monster Jam Pit Party kicked off mid-afternoon. Always one of our favorite parts of the event, Team XDP gets to hang out with our fans, sign autographs and show off the truck up-close. Onto the main event! The stadium was packed, and up first was racing. XDP’s “Xtreme Diesel” won the first round. In the second round,  Dragon edged us out and took the win, knocking us out of racing.

The freestyle competition is always a fan favorite, and Dave knows it. Coming out hot, Dave had a great run blasting off some huge air, and getting plenty of noise out of the crowd. About halfway through, as Dave puts it he got a little “greedy” on the wheelies and stood the truck up just a tad too far to bringing it down on its side. The crowd went wild so even with an early finish Dave was happy to put on a show.

“That was the first rollover on the new “Xtreme Diesel” truck, but don’t worry there’s most likely many more on the way. Although I don’t try to go out there and roll it on purpose, you never know where that fine line is if you don’t cross it! – Dave Radzierez

That wraps it up for Tampa, Team XDP will be in Minneapolis, Minnesota this coming Saturday (2/11).

XDP’s “Xtreme Diesel” Wins Wheelies In Detroit

detroit-5

“It’s the fans, the emails, the Facebook, it’s all that stuff that keeps me going, keeps me working hard” said Dave Radzierez, during his intro interview on Saturday night while overlooking Ford Field at the first scheduled Monster Jam event in Detroit. One of the many stops this winter on the busy Monster Jam Stadium Tour.

On Saturday afternoon at Ford Field, the ground floor of the stadium quickly filled after the kick-off of the “Pit Party” where the competing trucks were put on display, and the fans got to come in and see them up-close while personally interacting with the drivers and crew.

Once show time rolled around, the stadium was filled and Dave went to work doing what he does best! Dave had a blast performing for the crowd and even with a minor power steering issue that kept us out of freestyle, Dave was able to take the win in the Wheelie Competition!

Overall, Team XDP had a great weekend in Detroit! Team XDP is all packed up and headed south to Florida. Look for us this coming weekend in Tampa!

2016 XDP Open House Weekend

2016_dtn_01

The XDP Open House weekend was a huge success! An event not to miss! The XDP Open House Weekend is the combination of the U.S. Diesel Truckin’ Nationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ and the XDP Open House at our NJ Headquarters in Wall Township, NJ. With just a 30-minute ride between the two, it makes for an awesome weekend with 2 back-to-back days of diesel action.

The XDP Crew began our busy weekend before sunrise on Saturday morning at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park setting up the XDP Midway with over 35 of the industry’s top manufacturers, making it a diesel enthusiasts dream for planning out their next build. You could literally speak with a manufacturer that specializes in every part of your truck during the XDP Open House Weekend.

You could stop by the MBRP or Magnaflow booth to find out about your next exhaust system, talk with BD-Power, Industrial Injection or Fleece about your next turbo, see AFE about an intake system, talk with FASS or Bostech about fuel system components, and even find a set of wheels while visiting our friends at Fuel Off-Road. That’s only just a handful of the manufacturers that come out to support the weekend!

Once the gates opened on Saturday, the XDP Midway quickly flooded with enthusiasts from all over the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic who were excited to check out the manufacturers, show trucks, race vehicles and more! About mid-way through the morning the action on the track began with diesel drag racing from not only pickups & big rigs, but even dump trucks! Pretty much every diesel truck went down the legendary ¼ mile track.  Including our own Anthony Reams who fired off a few passes throughout the day.

While things are busy all day, the thrill show that happens at night is certainly not to be missed. Right after they sing our National Anthem, our very own Anthony Reams approached the line in the XDP Drag Truck. Lined up beside him was Chris Nolt, a friend and fellow racer. They staged and took off, what a way to start the main event! Right after that, the jet powered race cars came out, along with the Monster Truck thrill show including Dave Radzierez in the XDP Diesel Monster Truck to put an awesome end to a great day!

The following morning, we put the XDP Manufacturer midway back together at the XDP Headquarters in Wall Township, NJ. Manufacturers line the front and side of the XDP facility once again offering their expertise and helping fellow enthusiasts pick out the best components for their truck. Shortly after the event started, the grill was fired up, the burgers we’re being flipped, the pork was pulled and we had lunch for everyone.

In the front and the rear of the building the attention was put on the dyno, with attendees checking out the trucks that were spinning the rollers. We saw several numbers over 1000hp with the overall highest HP dyno winner Rich Nicolette, taking home the win with 1515HP & over 2000 ft-lbs in his Cummins. We did see some breakage on the dyno with a VW TDI that was towed out, a few coolant leaks,  but it’s all part of fun and the nature of pushing your machine to the limit.

Shortly after the last run on the dyno, the raffle winners were announced with over 20+ prizes from the top industry manufacturers, including a set of wheels from SOTA Offroad, custom tuning from GDP, free intake and exhaust from AFE and more! It’s easy to see why the Open House Weekend is an event not to be missed!

Save the date for next year and join us on Saturday, September 16th & Sunday, September 17th for the 2017 XDP Open House Weekend!

NHRDA Big Sky Truck Fest

2016_NHRDA_Montana

This past weekend XDP headed to Billings, Montana for round 8 of the NHRDA event schedule. The event took place at Yellowstone Dragstrip in Acton, Montana, about 20 minutes north of Billings. This was a 2 day event, with sled pulls taking place Friday night, and drag racing taking place Saturday. There were storms in the area all day Friday, but thankfully it did not affect the sled pulls from happening. Saturday was beautiful clear day, a slight breeze and highs of mid 70’s, absolutely perfect for racing.

The next NHRDA event will take place September 30th-October 1st in Ennis, TX for the World Finals. Join XDP next for the 20th annual Scheid Diesel Extravaganza at the Wabash County Fairgrounds in Terre Haute. Indiana. This is a 3 day event taking place August 26-28 and is one of, if not the largest diesel event in the country.
