2017 Rudy’s Diesel Season Opener

THE RACING SEASON HAS FINALLY BEGAN! After what seemed to be forever since the last race season, we at XDP are back out on the road and to kick off the 2017 racing season we headed to the first event of the year, the 2017 Rudy’s Diesel Season Opener.

The 2017 Rudy’s Diesel Season Opener is the first event to kick off the Outlaw Diesel Super Series (ODSS) in which high horsepower trucks put it all on the line and battle it out for the win. Every year this event continues to get better and this year was no exception. The event was located in Julian, NC at the Piedmont dragway, in the heart of North Carolina.

The two action-packed days were filled with drag racing, sled pulling, dyno competition, truck show-n-shine, and multiple vendors showing off the hottest new products available. Both days provided excellent weather for the racers and the crowds packed into the stands to cheer them on.

The event kicked off on Friday morning with drag racing test-n-tune and host of venders set up to showcase the latest and greatest parts in the high-performance diesel industry. As Friday wound down, the sled pulling track was groomed and ready to be torn up by high horsepower trucks looking for that full pull!

Drag racing began on Saturday around 10:00 AM and included the following classes: E.T., 7.70, 6.70, Pro Street, Pro Mod and Pro Dragster. As the racing was wrapping up around 5:00 PM, everyone traveled back over to the sled pulling track for another action-packed night of pulling. The grandstands were packed elbow to elbow all night with eager and excited fans. The sled pulling classes included: 2.6, 3.0 and Superstock Diesel.

Overall, we at XDP had a great time at the event and look forward to returning at the end of the year for the season closer and show our support. We would like to thank everyone over at Rudy’s Diesel for hosting such a great event, we had a blast!

IMG_4454

This past weekend we at XDP had a chance to take a trip out to Indianapolis, IN for the 2016 Fleece Performance Diesel Showdown. Fleece Performance (http://fleeceperformance.com/) like many of you know offers some of the best turbochargers and fuel system parts within the diesel industry. Like their parts, the event was of the same quality and was a real crowd pleaser. The day began in the early afternoon with numerous fans pouring into the area, checking out the vendors, grabbing a good seat at the pulling track, and overall, just enjoying the day.

The highlight of the show was the sled pulling event which was a Pro Pulling League (PPL) stop. Some of the biggest names in the sled pulling world were present, ready to give it all for a spot on top. The pulling went deep into the night with diehard fans staying till the very end.

Overall, we at XDP had a great time at the event and cannot wait to come back to the great state of Indiana to show our support again. We would like to thank all of the fans for stopping by the booth and showing your support. We would also like to thank Fleece Performance for putting on such a great event, we had a blast!

2016 TS Performance Outlaw Diesel Drag Race and Sled Pull

This past weekend XDP had the opportunity to attend the 2016 TS Performance Outlaw Diesel Drag Race and Sled Pull in the great state of Kentucky. Every year the TS Performance show draws in a huge crowd and this year was no exception. This event is both an Outlaw Diesel Super Series (ODSS) and Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League (PPL) stop which equates to an action packed weekend of pure diesel fun!

The event began Friday with gorgeous weather, bright skies and no rain in the forecast. Spectators piled into the stands to enjoy some high horsepower drag racing at Beech Bend Raceway. In addition to drag racing, vendors from around the country were on display to show off new products, talk technical with customers and enjoy the day.

However, in comparison to Friday, Saturday was not so pleasant due to the on and off again rain throughout the day. Jim Roberts park (where the second part of the event was held) was flooded in numerous places and the pulling track was unable to be salvaged even with the best track preparation guys in the country. What was surprising was the turnout on Saturday. Even though the event was rained out, the ground saturated and muddy, and the pulls canceled, die-hard fans STILL came out to enjoy the day and make the best of the situation.

Overall, we at XDP had a great time this past weekend and we would like to thank everyone for coming out, stopping by the booth and showing their support. Moreover, we would also like to thank TS Performance for the excellent show they put on each and every year, even though the pulls got rained out on Saturday they made the best of the situation and the event as a whole turned out well.

Look for us at our next event in Mechanicsville, MD for the 22nd Annual XDP Truck Mania held on June 11th.

Keystone Diesel Truck Nationals

Over the weekend XDP was back in the great state of Pennsylvania for the Keystone Diesel Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway. The weather was picture perfect with highs in the mid 80’s and not a cloud in the sky. This made for an excellent day of racing and fun for everyone. Throughout the day there were many events that the entire family could enjoy that included: Drag Racing, Monster Truck Rides, Show-n-Shine Competition and even our own XDP Diesel Monster Truck Car Crushing Main Event!

For the main event the XDP Monster Truck took to the track to show the fans what a 1200hp diesel monster truck can do! Unfortunately, after a couple of passes the rear steering cylinder broke which caused the monster truck to take an off-sided landing causing the truck to flip. After the roll, the crowd went wild when Dave emerged from the truck without a scratch, waving to the crowd.

Overall, we at XDP had a great time at the Keystone Diesel National and enjoyed talking with fans and friends alike.
