This past weekend XDP took a trip to Ennis Texas for the National Hot Rod Diesel Association (NHRDA) 2013 MBRP Diesel Drag Racing Series. This was the 6th Annual NHRDA Texas Diesel Nationals and included some of the top competitors from across the country in diesel drag racing, Show & Shine, Dyno competition and everyone’s favorite, the Burnout Contest. Furthermore, for the first time the NHRDA also included an adrenaline pumping sled pull event at Ennis Texas.
On Saturday the weather was set up for a perfect day of racing in the Lone Star State. Drag racing started off the day with trucks tearing up the track for a better part of the day. Super Street winner Brian Spooner from Lloydminister AB in his 2002 Dodge secured the win with a time of 9.690 sec at 142.85 mph. The sled pulling event started later in the day and went on into the evening with fans lined up at the track to watch these purpose built trucks do some damage on the track. The 2.6 class was dominated by Jim Greenway of Galena MO pulling in his 2007 Dodge, “Baillie Diesel”; His distance was an astonishing 314.00 ft. For the 3.0 class the famous “Scheid Diesel” truck driven by Brad Ingram of Farina IL pulled a very impressive 335.01 ft for the win.
